Flat oyster(lat. Ostrea edulis) or the European oyster is a seashell from Oyster family (Ostreidae).
Cromaris continued ancient tradition of oyster farming in the Adriatic Sea using all the advantages that sea farming of this delicacy are provided by calm and clear waters of the Adriatic. Flat oyster is a nutritious foodstuff, with meat rich in proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals (Ca, Zn, Mg and Fe) and antioxidants.
It is most commonly consumed fresh, with a few drops of lemon juice, but can be served cooked or baked.
The flat oyster farmed in Croatia has almost completely disappeared from Europe. It can be found in the Mediterranean, Eastern Atlantic and the Black Sea.
